A lawyer writes the final text before SafeSells launches. Until then, this page shows the plain-language summary and what each section will cover.

In short

Your price is held for 7 days. It’s based on what you tell us; if your device doesn’t match, a revised price follows the same price list and the published rules, and you see it before you agree.

You can walk away anytime before payment, at no cost. You confirm the device is yours to sell and you’re 18 or older. The sale is final once you’re paid in cash and the device is handed over.

Prices and price hold

Prices come from our current price list. Your price is held for 7 days, until the end of the day shown with it, Toronto time.

Condition and revised prices

Your price is based on your answers. If the inspection at the meetup finds something different, a revised price can only come from changing those answers and re-running the same price list you were shown. There is no other way to change a price, and you see the revised price and the reason before you agree.

Ownership and locked devices

You confirm the device is yours to sell and that you’re 18 or older. We can’t buy a device that’s reported lost or stolen, still linked to someone’s account, managed by a work or school, or has a balance owing.

Payment

Payment in cash at the meetup, before you hand the device over. No fees of any kind. The sale is final once you’re paid and the device is handed over.

Meetups, changes and cancellations

We come to a busy public spot you pick, anywhere in the GTA and surrounding areas, at a time in the next 48 hours. You can change or cancel anytime, for free. If we’re late or can’t make it, it’s on us, and your price is held until 7 days after the new time.

Data erasure

You sign out of your accounts at home, then erase the device yourself at the meetup after the check, while we watch. We never ask for your passwords or passcode.
